Frequently Asked Questions

How do we start?

Once you book a session at your preferred time through our scheduling page, you will receive a secure video call link before your appointment.

Will this consultation cause harm to my components?

No. The BIOS is set to the manufacturer's best and safest values, and our Windows adjustments cannot and will not cause hardware or software problems. The only situations where you might see a crash or unexpected behaviour are:

  1. Stress testing components, which can reveal a pre-existing fault such as unstable RAM or a failing PSU.
  2. A Windows 10/11 update. Some Microsoft updates can affect a Windows installation. This is rare, but it does happen.
  3. Faulty power input, such as a bad wall socket or poor power distribution.
  4. Incorrect or damaged cable connections inside the PC.

If you experience any issue after your consultation, please message us first and do not act on your own.

How does overclocking work in your consults?

For example, on a 13900K we set the clock speed to the maximum factory-rated clocks, never beyond them. The same applies to your RAM: we do not exceed its XMP speed, but we tighten its timings. For AMD systems we use PBO only, and have never used external clock overclocking. We respect the limits of the silicon and never push beyond its capabilities.

I need help. What do I do?

Your package includes support tickets. Tell us your concern and we will work through it together as soon as possible during business hours. Please note: if you change your configuration, BIOS, or Windows yourself, a fee applies to have them re-done.

How does Windows configuration behave over time?

Windows settings are effectively switches: either one value or another. They do not revert or change on their own over time. They only change if you install new applications or alter the work we have done. Changes are applied after a single restart, with results visible immediately.

I cannot update Windows or use the Microsoft Store. What do I do?

During your consult we install a Windows Update blocker as a simple toggle. You will find it at C:\fpsheaven, named WUB.exe. Open it, click "Enable updates", and apply. You will then be able to update normally again. If you need further help, please email us or open a ticket.

Will you install a custom OS during our consult?

FPSHEAVEN has never, and will never, install third-party or unofficial custom operating systems. We strongly recommend always installing a fresh ISO directly from Microsoft's official website to ensure system integrity and reliability.

Where do I get in touch if I have a problem?

Only at info@fpsheaven.com or via our Submit a Ticket page. Tickets are valid for 45 days after the service is completed, after which the ticket automatically closes.

What does my support cover, and what might appear after an optimization?

The Windows configuration we apply causes no damage. Occasionally a client may want to use an additional device, such as a printer. We disable some unnecessary devices that are not in use, so if you need help re-enabling one, just contact us.

The only time a problem may appear is when a Windows update, a driver version, or a BIOS version does not behave as the manufacturer intended. We have always covered the workaround for these, and we always will. We cover BSODs, crashes, and any software issues that may arise after your session.

Do I have to format or reinstall Windows for my order?

Not necessarily, but a fresh copy of Windows is preferable. A clean install delivers better results and improved performance. If you would like help installing the OS, we charge a €15 fee and guide you through the process. An 8GB or larger USB stick is helpful but not required.

A CS2 patch ruined my FPS. What can I do?

Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done about that. When a game receives an update and its performance is worse, that is outside your control. Your system's configuration and performance are independent of the game's performance. They are two separate things and behave on their own.

What will I receive with the package I selected?

Please see the details listed under each package on the order page.

How many consultations do I need?

A system tune-up is built to last. We recommend scheduling a brief consultation from time to time so we can guide you through the latest OS and BIOS updates.

After some time it does not feel smooth anymore. What do I do?

The optimizations we apply remain in place as long as you do not update Windows or drivers, or make other changes yourself. We show you how to keep everything running smoothly. If you ever feel the improvements have faded, for example after a game update, simply open a ticket and we will gladly take a look and help you out.

Will the optimization wear off over time?

No, never. Windows and BIOS settings do not disappear or change by themselves, unless you change something yourself.
